Welcome to the new DJXCON.COM website!

Well, this is exciting; and it’s NOT an April Fools’ Day joke. This is, however, the 3rd or 4th iteration of my website and I am wicked excited for what’s to come! I’m making this site more personal than ever with an “anything goes” approach to content.

I’ve worked hard to include as much initial content as possible while making it easier for viewers and listeners to enjoy pictures, videos, and of course, music. All seven of my albums are ready for you to stream and/or download at your convenience…and I’ve only just begun.

A brief update…

This is a good time for me to update you on what’s been going on in my music-life. Lately, I’ve felt the need to go back to my roots. My DJ career started with with two turntables and a mixer, lots of crate digging in record stores, and late nights mixing records. Those are some of my favorite memories. Over the last couple of months, I have been buying records in bulk and have probably acquired close to 1,000 by now. I’ve managed to recreate somewhat of a record store experience where I listen to records, oftentimes into the wee hours, carefully setting aside those that pique my interest. This process is incredibly comforting and familiar. Hello, year 2003. I’ve missed you. Now, I just need all my crazy roommates living under the same roof to make the memory complete!

The future…

I am planning a new type of recording concept called a, “Jailbreak.”  Okay, so you’re familiar with the term, but here is how I intend on using it. Instead of meticulously planning a set leading to its eventual recording, I am going to explore a more spontaneous approach. I’ll press the record button and whatever I spin will be picked up on the recording and shared through this website. Jailbreak sessions represent freedom and endless possibilities. They are live, imperfect by design, and completely removed from the conventional rules of recording. This new concept allows me to quickly deliver new content without the overhead of seemingly endless planning, audio mastering, album artwork, etc. and I can’t wait to post my first Jailbreak session!

Hope you stay a while! Now, please excuse me while I dig through some records.

This is where the magic freedom happens.
