Florida Music Festival

A true time capsule from 2004, this album was my 30 minute demo, submitted to Axis Magazine; I was hoping to be accepted into the Florida Music Festival. And I was! I can remember walking into the Axis magazine studio in downtown Orlando with my friend, Mark (of PRO Event DJ), and hand-delivering a copy. I did not tell anyone about the demo, the contest, or the festival. I wanted to keep things private because this was the first time I had ever tried anything of the sort…it was so nerve wracking. Only after I received notice that it was accepted, did I spread the word about the Festival, and my time slot at The Grotto, a really trendy bar downtown. Known for beer and breakbeats, this was the perfect venue. I remember it like it was yesterday; I performed a similar set as the demo, only about twice as long. I’ll never forget the bass pumping so hard that it made the needles jump when I would pull a record back on the platter. This whole experience was one of my favorite moments in my DJ history and I was lucky enough to have friends there to show support and take pictures!
